History
A century of craft and passion.Founded at the beginning of the twentieth century as Premiata ditta Fermani Clemente e figlio (Award-winning Firm of Clemente Fermani and Son), the company started its history producing hats, bags and other items in plaited wheat straw. The Falerone area, in fact, was the cradle of the “plait” and there were many artisans who devoted themselves to harvesting and plaiting straw stalks left over from the harvests. It was precisely the craftwork skills of the master hat-makers that made this product, of such humble origin, into a real and proper symbol of class and elegance.
In the 1950s the heirs built a new factory and expanded the product categories producing a wide range of goods. Since the early 1990s, with the era of the fourth generation, the company has gone back to its origins focusing production on stitched hats. At the same time, it developed expertise and knowhow in the production of felt hats and beanie hats, as well as scarves and gloves made of cashmere, wool, camel hair and many other noble fibers, thus offering its demanding and selected customers a very high-quality product, made completely by hand by milliners of very great and long experience.

For us every hat is like a child. We'll explain why.All our hats are produced entirely in Italy and made rigorously by hand. Each of them is crafted by a single operator, with no production line stages.
Each milliner, in fact, deals with all the manufacturing stages, starting from the plaiting of the braid, through ironing, applying accessories and right up to packing.
All this is to guarantee the highest quality of our creations and extreme care for the product.
This is why every single hat is a unique and inimitable creation.
Materials
From nature we get everything we need.Every product is made with materials of natural origin and top quality: above all very fine straw plait, but also plait made of paper, horsehair, racello, hemp and raffia for summer collections, and plait made of wool, cashmere, felt, lapin and other fibres for winter collections.
With great care we select the raw materials originating in various parts of the world, mostly processed by hand, because only from the best materials can the best products be made.
